At the end of March, Pleasant Hills will have 20,000 different coffee combinations at its fingertips. That’s because the seventh 7 Brew Coffee location in Western Pennsylvania is officially opening on the 23rd.
On Swag Day, the Saturday after opening, customers will receive a free T-shirt with the purchase of a large drink. But the giveaways don’t end there. When a 7 Brew Coffee opens in an area, they drop off 15,000 drinks to businesses and schools for free.
According to Chief of Staff Sara Pomella for Who Brew LLC, the purpose is to introduce people to the brand before a shop opens. “If there is a stand opening near you, definitely tune in and try to find out what opening day is because we have a lot of cool offers,” Pomella said. When you roll your car up to, or walk up to, a 7 Brew window, you can expect to speak with a human, not a speaker box. What’s also unique is that the store has limited parking and no indoor dining.
“We have our baristas come out with iPads,” Pomella said. “They come and get your order in person. They have real, genuine conversations with you, and then they hand you your drink in lane.”

As for what kinds of drinks? Customers can order coffee, energy drinks, smoothies, shakes, lemonade, Fizz soda, or more. So, in addition to 7 Brew’s main menu, which outlines what they offer, guests can mix and customize. In addition to regular flavors, there are many sugar-free options. Pomella noted that there’s also a secret drink menu online.
“There’s all sorts of fan groups and places on social media where people put out their lead combination,” she said. “Like, ‘you know I tried caramel and apple energy, and it was really good,’ and we’re like, are you sure?” Pomella said that the Who Brew franchise makes an effort to connect with Spanish-speaking customers through its communications and advertising.
Any of the 7 Brew landing pages and a lot of the social media accounts can be translated into Spanish. Around Pittsburgh, other 7 Brew locations can be found in Indiana, Latrobe, Uniontown, Moon Township, and Washington. The new Pleasant Hills stand will open at 320 Clairton Boulevard with a soft opening the weekend before opening day. “We’re still very new to the market,” Pomella said.

“But we’re so excited to be there, and we’ve seen big love come from the guests in Western PA.” When asked, Pomella said she had multiple go-to drink combinations, including one of 7 Brew’s classics: the blondie, a blend of espresso, caramel, and vanilla.
“For energy, I love our Pixie Stick, which is actually on our secret menu,” Pomella said. “It’s almonds, orange, and pomegranate, which sounds really crazy, but it’s delicious.” Drink prices typically range from about $3 to $6, but can run higher depending on size and add-ons.
