Join Pittsburgh Latino Magazine, The Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (PMAHCC), and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust at Ofrenda Happy Hour, a vibrant celebration honoring Día de los Muertos on Wednesday, October 29, at the Greer Cabaret Theater. The event runs from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. and marks the official kickoff to a week of Cultural Trust festivities dedicated to this colorful and deeply meaningful Mexican tradition.

Enjoy an evening filled with music, art, and cultural connection. DJ Matteo will keep the energy high with festive beats, while attendees enjoy a taco bar, Latin-inspired cocktails, and creative touches like complimentary Día de los Muertos makeup by Beanie Paints and a sparkling gem bar for finishing touches.

At the heart of the celebration will be an interactive ofrenda (altar) — a collaborative community artwork led by artists and PMAHCC Small Business Members Alison Zapata and Lisa DiGioia-Nutini, owner of Mexico Lindo. The altar invites participants to honor departed loved ones through traditional offerings like marigolds, papel picado, candles, pan de muerto, and sugar skulls, symbolizing remembrance, love, and continuity. Guests are encouraged to contribute a photo, name, or small memento to the communal altar.

Festive attire and makeup are encouraged, and tickets are available for $10 at trustarts.org.

Celebrate, connect, and honor tradition at one of Pittsburgh’s most spirited cultural gatherings — Ofrenda Happy Hour promises to be a memorable evening of community and creativity.
