UPDATE: Overwhelming Community Response Moves Frontline DIGNITY Training to Larger Venue
ORIGINAL ARTICLE:
PITTSBURGH — Frontline DIGNITY will hold a “Dignity in Action Rapid Response Training” on Tuesday, January 20, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at St. Adalbert Church in Pittsburgh’s South Side.
The session will focus on how to “recognize immigration enforcement activity, understand individual rights, document situations safely, and support affected families without escalating risk.” Local public defenders are expected to address ethical witnessing, de-escalation, and legal observation.
Frontline DIGNITY is a Pittsburgh-based organization that works through training, partnerships, and community organizing to support lawful, coordinated responses to immigration enforcement. The training is being offered as “immigration enforcement increasingly takes place in neighborhoods, workplaces, and public spaces,” according to the organization.
The event is open to the public, and no legal or organizing experience is required. Doors open at 5:45 p.m., and advance registration is encouraged at bit.ly/RapidResponsePGH.
