Thoughts of Love, Thoughts of Peace

A thought aligned with God’s will is a thought of love and can only give you peace.

“By uniting your mind with mine, you are signifying your awareness that the Will of God is One.” (ACIM, T-8. V.2:12)

The function of the brain is to think. To think is to inquire within. We are the creators of our thoughts. We create thoughts, inquire, analyze, and make decisions tied to those thoughts.
It may all sound like a tongue twister, but this topic is of utmost importance. The main decision is to decide if that thought contributes to your well-being. If it does not contribute to your well-being and on the contrary causes you anxiety, then get rid of it and replace it with a new one. It sounds easy and practical, but it is not. Like everything in life, it’s about making this a habit, about making it a daily practice. It’s like exercising, like going to the gym. After a while, the body adapts. The same happens with the brain and thoughts. There are tools to achieve this. You should research and apply what is best for you. Whatever works for you.

It works for me to ask God that my thoughts may be one with His. To think with and as God does not fail me.
Another element of help for me is not to take anything personally. I learned this from the book “The Four Agreements” by Don Miguel Ruiz. I try not to take anything personally. What others say or do has nothing to do with me, but with themselves.

Also, taken from the same book, I always try to do the best I can, I give my best and I remember not saying anything without first thinking about it. The latter is very important, because I have hurt people for having spoken without thinking. I am learning to be silent, to listen without interrupting, to think and then to act.
I only speak, if necessary, if not, I just smile.
