A popular Brookline venue has recently been transformed to provide the best for Pittsburgh’s Latino public. Its owner Luis Berumen tells us about the changes in Insomnia to ensure diners can enjoy authentic dishes, drinks, and music from Hispanic countries all in one place – a difficult pursuit in Western PA.
The menu has been renewed with exclusive and delicious dishes such as the seafood boat and a wide variety of traditional Mexican food only available here. They have also remodeled the place with modern lights, new tables, and even menus with LED lights.
According to Berumen a group effort helped make the changes a reality. “The restaurant employees, the DJs, and the administrators all provided recommendations for things people like in their countries, and I made sure we got everything so our guests enjoy their time here.”
On Fridays and Saturdays, there is a lively atmosphere at Latin Nights with DJ Mateo Matos (Colombian) and Erick Serrano (Nicaraguan) playing some of the favorite Latin rhythms like salsa, merengue, cumbia, and reggaeton. All this is under the production of Manuel Manuel Moya from M2 Productions. Live Central American and Mexican bands perform on Sundays.
This month, their new entertainment space – El Sótano (which translates to The Basement) – has already opened in the lower level of Insomnia! This venue is exclusive, with decor inspired by PA rural life, making locals and newcomers feel at home, where the public can agree to share more closely with their favorite artists. It will also serve as a space for networking events or private social activities.
Stop by Insomnia and discover El Sótano, where everything counts to ensure Latino and American guests have a great time.
