Regarding the bus driver, he said the conductor was detained, adding that this is a matter for the relevant authorities to resolve.

CPKC issued a statement on social media lamenting the incident and accusing the bus driver of trying to “crash the train.”

The company specified that “municipal civil protection and security authorities are providing support to deal with this tragic event.”

The company called on the public and drivers to respect signals and comply with the complete stop order at level crossings, in order to avoid such unfortunate situations.
On Monday, a video circulated on social media showing several people trying to help passengers trapped inside the bus exit through the roof, while others were on the ground.
