At the recent annual conference of the National Association of Hispanic Publications (NAHP), held October 23-25, 2024, Pittsburgh Latino Magazine was awarded three prestigious José Martí Awards. These awards at the national level recognize excellence in Hispanic publications in the United States. We are incredibly proud to announce our achievements in the following categories:
- Best Cultural Article Award (Bronze): “Three Incidents Made Me Feel Like an Outsider in Pittsburgh”, written by María Manautou Matos and published by Pittsburgh Latino Magazine for Public Source. This article explores a unique experience of feeling different in a new community.
- Best Magazine Design Award (Bronze): The innovative and attractive design of Pittsburgh Latino Magazine’s printed version was recognized among the best publications in the country.
- Best Media Kit Award (Silver): Our marketing team stood out with a Media Kit that reflects professionalism and creativity, facilitating the connection between our audience and business partners.
Notably, we were the only winners from the region covering Pennsylvania, Maryland, and West Virginia. These achievements are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, as well as our commitment to our community.
The NAHP conference also celebrated the growth of Hispanic publications in the country, representing more than 770 media outlets and reaching 15.4 million Latino readers weekly. This event was a platform to highlight the importance of Hispanic journalism. This included presentations from industry leaders and workshops aimed at improving the transition from print to digital media.
Thank you to all of our readers and contributors for your continued support! We are excited for what is to come and will continue working to offer quality content that reflects our culture and stories.
