CORAOPOLIS, Pa. — Creativity and community spirit came together at the McDonald’s on 4th Avenue in Coraopolis as Vanessa Bosetti of Cornell High School was recognized as the winner of the McDonald’s Golden Arches Mural Program competition.

During the celebration, Sam Nwagbo, owner-operator of the Coraopolis McDonald’s, presented Bosetti with a $1,000 check for her winning design, which was enlarged and transformed into a five-foot-by-five-foot mural now displayed at the restaurant.

Students from Cornell High School and Sto-Rox Junior Senior High School participated in the competition, creating artwork inspired by their connection to Coraopolis and McDonald’s. Their contributions helped make the event a celebration of local talent, creativity and community during Hispanic Heritage Month.

The program also included $500 grants for the art departments at both participating schools to support future creative opportunities.

Maria Manautou, founder and publisher of Pittsburgh Latino Magazine, served as one of the competition’s judges, alongside representatives from the West Hills Art League and Senator Devlin Robinson.

Through initiatives like the Golden Arches Mural Program, McDonald’s and local owner-operators continue to recognize young talent and strengthen connections with the communities they serve.
