A stabbing at a soccer field in Schenley Park last Sunday night is currently under further investigation.

According to police, two men showed up at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital in Oakland, shortly before 11pm on June 23. Each of the men had stab wounds. One was transferred to a trauma center in serious but stable condition, while the other was treated on-site.

The victims told the police through a Spanish interpreter that the incident happened in Schenley Park at a soccer field.

Later, City of Duquesne police found three more victims of the incident, one of whom was hit in the head with rocks, who were transported to a Pittsburgh hospital with various non-critical injuries.

Police say the incident is being investigated as an isolated event involving an altercation between people at the soccer game. Police also say alcohol was involved. They do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.
